Horus Heresy
After spending a long time refusing to get involved in a Horus Heresy army mainly due to the cost I gave in recently at the Forge World open day. I've decided on a Salamanders army, I love the figures and they have some pretty cool rules that fit my style of play. The first unit I brought were some Pyrocasts, Artificer armoured veterans with strength six heavy flamers that double as a short ranged melta weapon. They will be put into their own Landraider Proteus at some point but for now the next part of the project is the two tactical squads I need.

Dark Angels so far
I managed for the first time to get all my Dark Angels out on parade together today and took some photos. 234 marines towards my whole chapter target.

New Army
Well after the tournament I am giving the Dark Angels a short break and painting a small chaos army, 1500points and thats it.
It's a renegade force lead by a fallen dark angel, 19 marines each from one of the first founding legions
Fallen Lord (counts as abbadon)
Dark apostle
3 Terminators with mark of tzeentch
5 chosen with mark of khorne
5 Chosen with mark of nurgle
30 cultists
30 cultists
20 cultists with mark of slaanesh
Obliterator with mark of tzeentch
Obliterator with mark of nurgle
1500 points. Not going to add anymore as Dark Angels still main focus, will do 500 point blocks of allies.
I've tried to make the armour look worn and dirty using wire wool and weathering powder. Hopefully rest of marines will be ready soon then its a week or two painting cultists!

Brass Monkeys 2013
Recently I hosted an informal tournament for my friends as an excuse to get together and show off our toys.
We played 6 games each, one of each of the 40k scenarios with the player with the highest Victory points at the end the winner.
