Blood Angels allies

My first allied force is now Blood Angels to go with my dark Angels. Had a long think about the best allied force for them and as they used to share a codex it seemed a good choice.

First few Death Company with the chaplain

I've started with some Death Company as they are iconic for the Blood Angels, also a pretty hard hitting troops choice. Obviously these need to be lead by a chaplain to stir them into killing frenzy. To this I'm adding a small assault squad to make up around 500 points.

Next on the allies list is 500 points of daemons, not planned it yet but I think it will be lead by one of the forge world heralds or daemon prince models

Cycling

Well non wargaming but I've been cycling recently, and started going to the gym. Heap all sounds crazy but sitting at a desk all day sniffing paint and glue isn't the healthiest lifestyle.

Its been going well, managing to do 20-30 miles a few times a week around Richmond park, and did 100 miles in just over 6 hours a couple of weekends ago, managed to crash on my way to start the ride and had a minor case of road rash.

Here's my new shiny bike, a big improvement over my old trek hybrid

Flames of War

Flames of War still proves to be getting more and more popular, with the majority of my commissions being tanks!

Recently have been working on some early war Germans, and some mid war Russians.

The Germans are just an addition to an army from the states being used in a tournament later this month

Also a few late war Germans from the open fire box set heading for eBay...

And the mid war ruskies in snow mode, I've already painted a load of t34s and some t70s I must try and get some pictures of those.

Grey Knights

Grey Knights

I've had to paint as non metallic Grey Knights Razorback for a client, I quite like the grey look and will probably do my own all grey when I get around to doing an allied unit of them

Update

Again I've been neglecting this blog. So here's an update on everything...

Dark Angels.

Now over 10,000 points worth with the new codex, everything I have for them is now painted and I fielded a Raven wing force with some success last week. They have an amazing amount of firepower but do throw away kill points to easily. Almost tabled a Grey Knight force, with half my army left and still lost. Now have added a small Blood Angel force and there will be a post soon on that.

Chaos Marines

Almost finished, changed mine slightly and going to replace the 20 man cultist unit with 2 dreadclaws a friend has made some great conversions from drop pods so will be copying those.

New Army

Well after the tournament I am giving the Dark Angels a short break and painting a small chaos army, 1500points and thats it.

It's a renegade force lead by a fallen dark angel, 19 marines each from one of the first founding legions

Fallen Lord (counts as abbadon)
Dark apostle
3 Terminators with mark of tzeentch
5 chosen with mark of khorne
5 Chosen with mark of nurgle
30 cultists

20 cultists with mark of slaanesh

1500 points. Not going to add anymore as Dark Angels still main focus, will do 500 point blocks of allies.

Everything painted so far

Renegade Salamander and Imperial Fist Terminators

Khorne Chosen. Renegade Space Wolf, White Scar, Night Lord, World Eater and Blood Angel

First two members of the Nurgle Chosen. An Ultramarine and an Iron Warrior

Black Legion Obliterator

First of 80 cultists

Khorne squad looking angry

My favourite model from this army so far

I've tried to make the armour look worn and dirty using wire wool and weathering powder. Hopefully rest of marines will be ready soon then its a week or two painting cultists!
